Traditional membership dues for Member, Senior, Associate and Fellow
members remain at $85. Student membership stays at $25. SBE Student Members

SBE Life Membership
SBE members who are at least 65 years of age, are fully retired from
broadcast engineering work and have been an SBE member for at least 15
consecutive years at the time of applying for Life member status may be
eligible for Life membership. There is a one-time $85 application fee ($175
if opting for Life MemberPlus).
Life MemberPlus
SBE Life Members (who traditionally pay no dues) have the opportunity to
take the SBE Life MemberPlus option and receive access to all Webinars by

SBE Ennes Workshop @ The 2023 NAB Show
The SBE Ennes Workshop has been the traditional kick-off for the
convention. This year, it will span two days on April 14 and 15. Unlike
previous years, it is separate from the Broadcast Engineering and IT
Conference sessions. For 2023, it will be a stand-alone event with separate

day early and attend the SBE Ennes Workshop before the exhibits open.

Chapter Engineer of the Year
Plan to Select Your SBE Chapter Engineer of the Year for 2023
Each year, all SBE chapters are encouraged to present the SBE Chapter
Engineer of the Year award to a deserving member of their chapters. The
award recognizes the efforts of an individual who best furthers the goals
and objectives of your SBE chapter and the broadcast industry, and provides
an outstanding example of leadership and ethics on the local level.

Each chapter nominates, selects and presents the award to one SBE member in
good standing from among the SBE members in the chapter. Chapter winners
should be chosen by mid-May each year. The national SBE supports you by
providing a plaque for you to present to your winner. The national SBE will
also publish a photo of the presentation you make to your recipient in an
issue of The Signal. In 2022, six chapters named their own Chapter Engineer
of the Year.
Here's a schedule to follow for your own chapter selection process:
• By March 31: Have your chapter vote to establish a Chapter Engineer of
the Year award and open nominations from local members.
• By May 15: Vote for your chapter's honoree.
• By June 1: Notify the National Office who your local winner is. The SBE
National Office will send you the plaque for presentation.
• By August 31: At a chapter meeting (hopefully in person by then) present
your winner with the plaque and take a photo of the presentation. Send the
photo to the national office for publication in The Signal.
Those members honored by their chapters are then entered into consideration
for the national Robert W. Flanders SBE Engineer of the Year award. For

The SBE and You Are the Perfect Fit
SBE Membership Drive Begins March 1
You're an SBE member, so you already know the value of being part of the
association for broadcast and multimedia technology professionals.
Beginning March 1, you can help your colleagues and associates to enjoy the
benefits of membership by recruiting them to join the SBE during the annual
SBE Membership Drive. The theme this year is "The SBE and You: The Perfect
Fit."

If you recruit a new member during the Drive and your name is on the
sponsor's line of the membership application, your name will be entered
into the member drive drawing for prizes donated from our sustaining
members. If you recruit a new sustaining member, you'll earn five entries
into the prize drawing. Prizes include logo items, books and more from the
SBE and many sustaining members. The grand prize is airfare and two nights'

Update Your Chapter's Information With the National Office
A reminder to update the SBE National Office with the names and contact

evening, etc.). A good time to do this is just after your chapter's annual
