Hey Jim,

Thanks for keeping SBE Chapter 16 going strong for all these years. If it wasn't for your help, especially with publishing the Waveguide, I don't think that Seattle would have had such a spirited sense of broadcast engineering community and camaraderie. I certainly found that the years in which I served on the Chapter 16 Board were made more interesting by hearing your stories of Seattle broadcast history or whatever new project you had in the works, and I'm sure that other chapter members will agree with me,

Sorry to hear that you are not well. But you will be again real soon because we're all with you… and we know how tough you are. You are loved brother. See you at the Christmas Party this year, okay?

Love to you and Betty.

Arthur

Subject: [SBE16-Seattle] Seattle SBE Chapter 16 Member in Hospital

Dear friends,

I am asking that your prayers and positive thoughts for a prompt and full recovery be directed toward our SBE brother & Chapter 16 Vice Chair, Jim Dalke.

Jim has been in & out, and is now back in, the hospital fighting an aggressive strain of E. coli. Present timing looks like Jim will be hospitalized until Monday or Tuesday (12/4-5), then home for recuperation.

Jim will then be returning to the hospital daily for blood tests and IV antibiotics to assure they are fending-off the nasty bacteria. After his previous cycle in the hospital for E. coli, a similar treatment plan had been followed for a couple of weeks, but unfortunately there was a resurgence of the bacteria.

Jim's wife, Betty, reports that Jim is "sleeping a lot" at the hospital and wants to get back into "Action Mode" as soon as he's able. Heck, that's the only way I've always known Jim to be - ready to go, go, go!

Let help lift Jim's spirit by posting a few kind messages to let him know we are rooting mightily for his return to good health.

Sincerely thanking you and wishing you all well in this Holiday Season.

Marty Hadfield, CPBE
