Hi All!
I've been asked about how our SBE Elections work, so I thought I'd give a
little explanation.
Like any service organization, we rely on volunteers to make it ALL work.
The first step is Nominations - *DUE JUNE 1*. If you know of a chapter
member (maybe yourself) with an idea of how to improve our chapter, look
over the available positions (http://sbe16.com/?p=6735) and send an email
to *director1 at sbe16.org <director1 at sbe16.org>*. If you're considering it,
but not yet certain, let us know that too. There are many committee
positions to be filled during the year.
Following Robert's Rules of Order, a nomination consists of nominating a
single person to a specific position. Any member in good standing at the
time of election, and throughout their term, is eligible for any position.
For each nomination, the Election Committee will verify eligibility of the
nominee. Of course, nominees must actually want to be a board member!
Then, the ballot will be created, and the election launched.
After the ballots are cast, and election closed, then voila - we have new
board officers. That's all there is to it!
Stay tuned as the voting will begin in just a few days.
